Northern Ireland (Tuaisceart Éireann) is a country which is a part of the United Kingdom in the north-east of the island of Ireland. Northern Ireland shares a border to the south and west with the Republic of Ireland. As of 2011, its population was 1,810,863, constituting about 30% of the island's total population and about 3% of the population of the United Kingdom. The Constituent Country is in Northwestern Europe and is a part of the United Kingdom which is a country located in Northwestern Europe.
Northern Ireland was created in 1921, when Ireland was partitioned between Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland by an act of the British parliament.
The current first minister of Northern Ireland is Peter Robinson, while Theresa Villiers is the current secretary of state. The current monarch is King Charles III, with David Cameron as the current Prime Minister. Steve Baker is the UK Minister of State for Northern Ireland. The former monarch Queen Elizabeth II, who died on 8th September 2022.
Belfast is a city and the capital city of Northern Ireland. Other Northern Irish cities are Londonderry (Derry) and Newry. Northern Ireland also left the European Union (EU) on 31st January 2020 at 11:00 PM GMT, that was Brexit's start date. Catholic Christianity is Northern Irelands main religion.

Northern Ireland has 6 counties, the Republic of Ireland has 32 counties, that is a big difference. The Titanic ship was built at Titanic Quarter in Belfast, which is where the massive Titanic Museum and W5 Science Museum are. The Titanic went to Southampton, England, United Kingdom and went to New York, United States. The Titanic Museum has two cafes and a gift shop. W5 Science Museum is all about science and it is geared for kids who are in Primary Schools. Some Schools from the Republic of Ireland take students or pupils to the Titanic Museum and W5 Science Museum. Ulster is the one province of Northern Ireland and is in some Irish counties. All Irish counties are Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal that are Republic of Ireland counties in Ulster. Irish Counties that border Northern Ireland are Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth. Belfast is located in Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland, the border has no checkpoints as it is just a straight road down without even noticing, the Co. Louth border, when you cross the border, the N1 changes to A1. Some children's television series, those are Jim Hensons Pajanimals, which is American-Northern Irish and Lily's Driftwood Bay, which is Northern Irish and are both made in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
History[]
Northern Ireland went through a phase called Home Rule and the Troubles, the Troubles lasted from 1968-1998, for 30 years it lasted. Northern Irish people are Unionists as Irish people are Nationalists. The time was very sad and upsetting for some people.

Northern Ireland has some retailers around the constituent country like McDonald's, IKEA, Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, SuperValu, Debenhams and Dunnes Stores. There are way more than that too like Burger King and KFC for restaurants. Russells Food&Drink is a Northern Irish Convenience Store Chain. Aldi and Lidl are stores there too. Belfast International Airport is the main airport but there seven more airports in the country.
